Located along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Grauman's Chinese Theatre (aka Mann's Chinese Theatre) is a Hollywood landmark, dating back to its opening on May 18, 1927. Designed by Meyer and Holler architectural firm to be a "palace type theatre" similar to the Egyptian Theatre, Grauman's has long be a location of choice for Hollywood movie premieres. The theatre's forecourt contains concrete blocks that bear footprints, handprints and signatures of movie stars, dating back to the 1920s. Grauman's has been the site of three Academy Awards ceremonies (1944, 1945, 1946) and stands adjacent to the new home of the Academy Awards ceremony, Kodak Theater in the Hollywood & Highland Entertainment Complex.
